Dr. Eric Van Nice graduated in 1982 from University of California – San Diego with a BA in animal Physiology. In 1986, he graduated from the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Van Nice became a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (AVD) in 1990 and in 1995, he achieved Diplomate status in the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC). Prior to the practicing in the field of specialty dentistry, Dr. Van Nice practiced small animal general medicine and surgery in Mission Viejo, California. From 2000 to the present, Dr. Van Nice has owned Animal Dental Services in Tustin, California and is proud to be a part of the Advanced Veterinary Specialty Group, also located in Tustin, California.
Dr. Van Nice lectures on topics in dentistry and oral surgery locally and at the annual Veterinary Dental Forum. He has served on the examination committees of both the AVD and the AVDC. He enjoys working with the local police and sheriff’s canine officers.
Dr. Van Nice is originally from San Diego, and has lived and worked in San Diego and Orange counties all of his life. His companion Darlene is a pharmacist, and they are “owned” by their two dogs “Pancho” and “Skittles”. In his leisure time, Dr. Van Nice enjoys tennis and fishing trips, and has participated in local community orchestras by playing clarinets and saxophones. An enthusiastic amateur mechanic, his main hobby is the restoration of old sports cars, primarily Fiats, Fiat-Abarths, and Alfa Romeos.
